Key Accountabilities  

Strategy

  • Develop the medium and long term strategy and associated targets  for the commercial department  in conjunction with  the CCO  in alignment with group commercial, marketing segments and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of the organisation, utilizing own BU strategy and knowledge
  • Provide analysis on potential market dynamics locally, regionally and globally
  • Recommend revenue growth streams, sensitivities and scenarios
  • Proposing the plan for future commercial related strategic investments of network, commercial and other groups  

Business Planning

  • Manage the preparation of the 3 years plan, annual operating plan (AOP) inputs, models and forecasts for marketing and commercial; in coordination with consumer marketing, business marketing, sales and other commercial teams for both mobile and fixed
  • Provide Finance, Strategy and other internal/external audience with all inputs required for/from the AOP, forecasts from commercial & marketing
  • Ensure development, alignment and execution of the marketing plans

Customer and Market Intelligence

  • Lead and manage  the development and/or enhancement of the existing, and acquire new sources that enhance market understanding and customer intelligence
  • Conduct strategic assessment, and assess future growth opportunities
  • Review MI sources against business needs, confirm sufficiency, develop resulting actionable plans
  • Ensure availability of local, regional and international benchmark studies, their analysis that serves as crucial input for the strategy development and planning process.
  • Incorporate services/initiatives from the Group and their research teams as appropriate.

Pricing as a strategy and execution

  • Direct the design and delivery of the pricing strategy for the Company, manage pricing positioning of POPSs across all consumer offering
  • Align pricing portfolio and propositions with business segment
  • Proactive development of new/innovative pricing initiatives, review best practice across the region, global, and introduce them to Oman as appropriate
  • Ensure proper offering to enhance customer life cycle management, and a smooth run of the pricing committee

Data Analytics

  • Maintain and enhance quality of master data, aligning it with the overall BI strategy and team requests
  • Manage sources of customer data, knowledge, and support the creation of proper analytical layers and levels
  • Provide in-depth analysis to support marketing and sales projects, and enhancing the data analytics capabilities
  • Provide geographic operational insights that help support the efficiency of all operational activities

Performance Management & Reporting 

  • Navigate analytics and tell persuasive stories with hard facts & data insights
  • Deliver reporting on all KPIs including AOP and variance analysis, for core operation and performance areas of the Company such as consumer, commercial, network investments, segments, customer lifecycle, customer acquisition quality, products’ penetration and performance reviews (PIRs)
  • Oversee the reporting on market dynamics, market KPI’s and indicators in the local and regional environment relevant to the Company 

Leadership

  • Develop, monitor, control  and report on directorate  budget, ensuring the spend is maximised and overspend avoided.
  • Lead, manage, coach and develop the team to ensure the highest level of performance across the directory
  • Ensure that all team members (both direct reports and the wider team) have annual performance contracts and development plans in place
  • Provide meaningful and relevant feedback to team members enabling them to  learn and develop 
  • Delegates effectively to the team to drive up capability and knowledge and to provide opportunity for growth 

Education Level ( Minimum  / Preferred)

  • BSc degree or equivalent in business or similar field

Required Experience and Knowledge to be able to do the job ( Minimum  / Preferred) 

  • A very strong amount of total work experience at least
  • A strong amount of experience in planning, with a good amount in a managerial position preferably in telecom or closely related industry
  • Must have significant experience in Research and its analysis
  • Expertise in co-ordinating strategy Development
  • Expertise in business planning 

Professional Qualification /  Certification requirements

  • Master’s is a plus
